Program Philosophy
Stages Theatre Company’s Conservatory programs provide young people with excellent, innovative and enriching theatre arts training. Our classes are structured for the growth and enjoyment of the beginning student through the advanced performer. Through their work in Conservatory, students can explore and express their individuality, build self-confidence, and gain new knowledge and understanding of acting techniques.
Stages Theatre Company calls upon the professional theatre community by utilizing the finest teaching artists in the Twin Cities area. Conservatory resident and guest instructors create a flexible program that is adjusted each year to meet the needs of our students. Class size is limited to allow for one on one work between the student and the instructor. Classes are also offered in areas such as ballet, hip hop, vocal music, voice and diction, improvisation, audition technique, stage combat and musical theatre.
Profile of A Conservatory Student
We accept individuals who demonstrate a strong desire and commitment to acting and theatre. Students in the Acting Conservatory and Junior Conservatory are expected to demonstrate ongoing dedication to the development of their acting skills. These include discipline, talent, commitment, generosity, concentration, perseverance and ensemble building.
