Community Enrichment Classes
We believe that theatre has the potential to inspire and educate while being an effective vehicle for personal growth. We offer a wide range of after-school and weekend classes for elementary and middle school-age children through school districts across the Twin Cities metro area. These introductory classes are designed to stimulate student creativity and imagination as well as foster an appreciation of theatre.
Hopkins - 2011 - 2012 Fall Classes
Grades 3-5 SHOWTIME! MISS NELSON IS MISSING
Oct. 20 and 21, 2011 (Thursday and Friday) Eisenhower Community Center, Room 111 9:30am to NoonClass Description: "Where is Miss Nelson?" as the students of room 207. "Never mind! Open those math books!" replies their new teacher, Miss Viola Swamp, and the kids could see she was a real witch. Will Miss Nelson ever return? Perfect for that energetic and playful young person in your life, this class will encourage students to use their expresive voices, creative bodies, and their imagination to channel their creativity into a retelling of this award-winning book. Families are invited to a portion of the final class for a sharing of skills learned. Each student will receive a complimentary ticket to a 2011 - 12 Stages Theatre Company production.
Grades K - 2 SHOWTIME! FANCY NANCY OOH LA LA!
Nov. 3 and 4, 2011 (Thursday and Friday) Eisenhower Community Center, Room 111 9:00am to 11:30amClass Description: Set your sights on stupendous! With sparkly sprinkles, fabulous flair, and Fancy Nancy's artistic vision, anything and everything can be come extraordinary. With inspired imagination, creative movement, and vivacious vocabulary, young actors can join Fancy Nancy in her hilarious quest to transform mundane to marvelous, tedious to tremendous, and everyday to exceptional. Families are invited to a portion of the final class for a sharing of skills learned. Each student will receive a complimentary ticket to a 2011 - 12 Stages Theatre Company production.

We'll learn to use our innate acting tools: our bodies, our voices, and our imagination to "become" our favorite animal friends and act out stories using these animal characters. Family and friends are invited to a portion of the final class for a sharing of skills learned. Students will receive a free ticket to a 2011 - 12 Stages Theatre Company production.

Join a professional Teaching Artist from Stages Theatre Company as they teach you the do's and don'ts of commercial and television auditioning and performance. Here's your chance to learn tips on how to prepare for an audition or to create your own original short films and commercials.
