Boy Scouts- through the Actors at Play and the Design and Techincal Theatre workshops Cubs or Scouts will complete activities that count toward a Showman Pin or a Theatre Badge.
Actors at Play
Did you know that actors have three primary tools that they use on stage? In this hour-long workshop, Scouts will discover what these tools are and how to use them every day! Scouts will also learn acting techniques, warm-ups, and exercises that will help prepare them for adventures in professional auditions or putting up a play in their own backyard!
Design and Technical Theater
How do they do that? In this workshop, Scouts will learn how designers and technicians transform a bare stage into a new world. Scouts will take a whirlwind tour though Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, discover stage design fundamentals, and pick up tips and tricks for crafting their own 3-D model set.
Make-up for the Stage
How do they do that? In this workshop, Scouts will learn how actors transform themselves into a variety of characters using make-up. Scouts will learn beginning techniques, design a character face, and have the opportunity to transform their imagined designs into live characters!
