Theatre Workshops for Youth Theatre Workshops for YouthOur theatre workshops are designed to inspire creativity in youth ages 4 – 17. Taught by some of the finest professional theatre artists in the Twin Cities, our summer and winter workshops focus on the techniques of drama, music and dance. Acting ConservatoryStages Theatre Company's Conservatory programs provide young people with excellent, innovative and enriching theatre arts training. Our class sizes are limited to allow for personalize instruction and classes are structured for the growth and enjoyment of the beginning student through the advanced performer. Resident and guest instructors create a flexible program that is adjusted each year to meet the needs of students age 7 – 17. Click here for more information. Community Enrichment ClassesWe believe that theatre has the potential to inspire and educate while being an effective vehicle for personal growth. We offer a wide range of after-school and weekend classes for elementary children through school districts across the Twin Cities metro area. These introductory classes are designed stimulate student creativity and imagination as well as foster an appreciation of theatre. Click here for more information. Home School ProgramsThrough a variety of options, home school groups in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota can participate in performance-based workshops or explore non-theatre curriculum in a dramatic way. Our artists create a positive, supportive, and conservative atmosphere in which students are challenged to reach new levels of curricular understanding in and through the performing arts. Join us for 30 minutes of activities prior to select 2 p.m. performances of How I Became a Pirate (Oct. 12, 2008); Goodnight Moon (Feb. 1, 2009); The Paper Bag Princess (May 10, 2009); The Wizard of Oz (July 12, 2009). Study GuidesThousands upon thousands of young people receive their first exposure to theatre at Stages Theatre Company. Study guides are a great way to extend your child's experience beyond their visit. Our guides contain engaging information about the playwright or author and ideas for activities to do and questions to talk about when you get back home! Click here for more information. AuditionsAll of our productions feature youth performing alongside professional adult actors. Auditions for our productions are open to all actors ages 10–21 unless otherwise noted. All auditions are by appointment only. We begin taking appointments two weeks prior to the actual audition dates. Our audition line will let you know the dates and times of our next audition as well as what each young actor needs to know before they come.
