Bear Snores On Q&A with costumer : Stephanie Harmon

Get to know the CREATIVE TEAM of Bear Snores On with our Q&A as we Journey to the Cave.

Stephanie Harmon is back at Stages for her 13th production with us as choreographer! She has worked and performed nationally and we’re thrilled to have her back.

The official definition of a  CHOREOGRAPHER is a person who creates dance compositions and plans and arranges dance movements and patterns for dances.

Q&A with : Stephanie Harmon (Choreographer for Bear Snores On)

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your working process

A: I tend to just listen to the music a number of times to let it soak in before I do any official choreography work.  I always come in to rehearsal with finished choreography, but also with an open mind in case something doesn’t work, or someone has a really brilliant idea that works better.

Q: What is a particularly interesting or unusual challenge on this project and how are you setting out to solve it?

A: It is basically the same show that I did last spring in design and substance, so it is a challenge for me to not fall back on what I did before.

Q: What in your childhood got you to where you are today?

A: My mom’s station wagon…but seriously, my mother signed me up for dance lessons and it just all stuck:)

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job in this production?

A: I find Stages to be a home, not just a job, and it makes me feel good just to work out here.  There is a feeling of everyone working together toward a common goal that is not always present at other theaters.

Q: Favorite Color

A: Green

Q: Favorite  Quote

A: Get outside…it’s a lovely day…and I still do it!

Q: Favorite Book You Remember from Growing Up

A: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Q: Favorite Winter Activity (either as a kid or now)

A: Hmmmm… (EDITORS NOTE: Stay tuned… we’ll let you know!)
