Each session ends with a showcase for family and friends.
Each student receives a WRITTEN EVALUATION at the end of each session.

2018/2019 ACTING CONSERVATORY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

First Stage: Agess 6-7

FIRST STAGE is an actor-training program for our youngest students (ages 6-7) to explore stories, create characters and play constructive acting games designed to build their acting skills and learn what it means to perform for an audience.

$145.00 per student, per session
*Students must be age 6 by the first day of session

Meets once a week for 1.5 hours

FALL SESSION: CREATING WITH YOUR ACTOR’S TOOLBOX

Students use their actor tools to explore characters and stories.

Tuesdays: October 2 – December 11, 2018 / 4:30-6:00 PM

WINTER SESSION: LET’S DO A SHOW!

Students get cast in a role, learn their lines, and work with fellow actors to put on a show!

Center Stage for Ages 7-8

Students take a step up from First Stage to build self-confidence and acting skills while creating characters, constructing scenes, performing scripts and practicing beginning musical theatre skills.

$180.00 per student, per session

FALL SESSION: TELLING STORIES
Students build their acting skills while collaborating on an original story.

WINTER SESSION: CAST ME IN A ROLE
Students build their acting skills while exploring the rehearsal process and performing a short play with fellow actors.

Students take a more in-depth approach to develop acting skills through creating original work, studying musical theatre, playing with improvisation, and performing shortscripts.

FALL SESSION: DEVISE YOUR STORY
Students develop acting skills through collaborating with their fellow actors to build interesting characters and tell unique stories.

FALL SESSION: SHOW STOPPING NUMBERS
Students build their singing, acting and dancing skills while collaborating on show stopping numbers from popular musicals.

WINTER SESSION: SCENE TO SONG
Students learn to portray characters through signing, acting and dancing while working on musical theatre scenes and songs.

Teen Conservatory for ages 12-17

An intensive, in-depth multi-year training program for the teen performer. Students commit to one year at a time and must complete each year to advance through the program.

TRACK I – AN ACTOR PREPARES

Students form a solid foundation for acting by learning to prepare the body, mind and voice for performance; exploring improvisation; studying how to approach a script and develop a character; and working as an ensemble. Students explore both monologues and scenes from contemporary theatre.

$570.00per student, per year
(Three payments of $190.00 each OR pay full tuition at registration and receive a $20 discount)
*Students must be age 12 by September 29, 2018.

Meets twice a week for 2 hours for 18 weeks.
Saturdays, 9:30-11:30AM & Mondays, 4-6PM
Students commit to both sessions of training.

TRACK II – AN ACTOR PLAYS

Students engage with an in-depth practice in a variety of performance styles designed to challenge, grow, and hone their acting skills. Two performance styles are offered each year on a rotating basis.
Students may enroll in this track multiple times, as different styles are offered each year.
In 2018-2019 Track II students will hone skills through an intensive in SKETCH COMEDY and SHAKESPEARE.
Students must complete Track I (or the equivalent) to be eligible for Track II classes.

ACTING NUTS & BOLTSA nine-week acting intensive designed for ages 12-17. Students develop acting skills through exploring monologues, scenes and improvisation. Designed for students turning 12 during the school year or those unable to commit to our Advanced Training Program.

Acting Conservatory Spring Training Boot Camps for ages 10-17

AUDITION BOOT CAMP

Learn to show your best at an audition, including the prepared monologue and song, the dance/movement audition, callbacks, cold readings and cold singing. The class includes a mock audition- both the prepared audition and the callback. The class is taught by three instructors- an acting coach, a singing coach, and a dance coach. Students receive comprehensive, written feedback in all disciplines at the mock audition.

$180.00 per student

CLASS INCLUDES: TWO MOCK AUDITIONS

Students in Audition Boot Camp RECEIVE WRITTEN EVALUATIONS on prepared monologues, prepared songs, cold readings, cold singing and dance callbacks!

REGISTER

An intensive training class designed to develop both singing and dancing skills. The class will focus on both singing and dance training with a professional choreographer and vocal lessons over the course of the 4-week boot camp. Success on the musical theatre stage requires building your musical theatre skills. This class will assist in training both your singing and dancing skills for that success.

$245.00 per student
