2018 WORKSHOP TITLES
It’s a jolly holiday for singing and dancing at Stages! We are popping up with
some more opportunities over the holiday break! Join us as we learn music and
choreography for Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and Let’s Go Fly a Kite.
We will also go backstage and explore the world of our own Mary Poppins Jr.
on the main stage. Make some friends and have some fun with us!
DEC 27 + DEC 28, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Just in time for exciting musical on our holiday stage, we will be making our own
play inspired by everyone’s favorite nanny, Mary Poppins. What kind of magical
transformation can we make when Mary teaches us to step in time and lead with love?
Cozy up with Jan Brett’s winter animals from The Three Snow Bears and The Mitten
as we create a furry story of fun and frolicking! Using creative dramatics, we will work
on the Actor’s Toolbox of voice, body, and imagination to share our play with you!
Inspired by our friend Ralph’s new movie, we are going to explore a gigantic
Disney mashup! What would happen if all of your favorite Disney characters found
themselves competing in the same game? Yes, we said ALL of them. Wreck-It Ralph,
Vanellope, the Disney Princesses, Captain Hook, Queen of Hearts, Hercules, the
Seven Dwarves, Maleficent, Mowgli, Jafar, and more are all going to battle to win
the ultimate game of who has the best journey of them all. We are going to use the
Actor’s Toolbox and elements of a story to create this House of Mouse Mashup!
Time to return to the magic of Harry Potter’s world! We will use our actor’s tools
to decipher The adventures of writer Newt Scamander in the secret community of
witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter even reads his book. Using
imagination and storytelling, we will solve the many crimes that Newt Scamander
keeps coming across! Join us for improvisation games, ensemble building, and
developing acting skills, as we make a non-Muggle play come alive!
