Rudolph and friends fly back onto our stage this Holiday Season for an encore production of this audience favorite. Come celebrate the spirit of the holidays with this timeless tale of misfits, elves, an abominable snow monster and a whole lot of Holly Jolly good fun. This enchanting musical, based on the classic television special features all the characters and songs you love, and will inspire you to sing along with glee!

Kallie Jo Ascheman (Mrs Donner / Dolly, Understudy Clarice)
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical is Kallie Jo’s fifth production with Stages Theatre Company. She previously appeared in the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Twelve Dancing Princesses, One-Dog Canoe, and The Little Mermaid Jr. “Special thanks to Elaine Johnson for igniting my spark for performing and for supporting me along the way.”
Todd Bruse (Coach Comet / Yukon Cornelius)
Todd has been performing with Stages Theatre Company since 1999, and appeared in the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. “Like Yukon, I’ve been looking for a peppermint mine since I knew how to walk. If you’ve seen the one I’m looking for, please tell it where I am.”
Arie Cohen (Elf / Woodland Creature)
We are excited to have Arie in his second production at Stages. He played Kai in The Snow Queen and he loved the experience. He has also appeared in productions with Eden Prairie Players, Chaska Valley Family Theater, Morris Park, Artistry, and Cross Community Players. Arie is 13 years old and in 7th grade at Eagle Ridge Academy. He would like to thank his parents, sister, cousin Carol, dance teachers and his school for enabling him to be part of this production.
Logan Bitz Daum (Reindeer / Understudy Rudolph, Hermey, Donner)
Logan Bitz Daum is returning for production number nine here at Stages Theatre Company. A graduate of Northwestern Universit in Chicago, he came back to the Twin Cities to the theater community he grew up with and loves. His additional local acting credits include Artistry, Silver Slipper Productions, Park Productions, and Paul Bunyan Playhouse. He recently dabbled in film, acting in the web-series Super Lame Powers. Logan is the proud owner of his own little misfit – a three-legged cat named Vasha.
Natalie Dekker (Spotted Elephant / Bumble)
Natalie is back on stage with Stages Theatre Company in her seventh production. She has appeared in Zen Shorts, Llama Llama Holiday Drama, Number the Stars, A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Little Mermaid Jr, and the previous production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Natalie has also appeared in productions with Burnsville Civic Light Opera, Chaska Valley Family Theater, Prior Lake Players, Eagan Community Theater, and Actor’s Theater of Minnesota. “Thank you to my mom and dad for always being there to support me in everything I do, strive to do, and be in life.”
Nicholas Dekker (Rudolph)
Nicholas in appearing in his seventh production with Stages Theatre Company. He has appeared in A Charlie Brown Christmas, Llama Llama Holiday Drama, Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, Bear Snores On, Twelve Dancing Princesses, and the previous production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Nicholas has also appeared in productions with Chaska Valley Family Theater, Prior Lake Players, and Children’s Theatre Company. “Thanks to my sister for getting me to give acting a try and to my parents for their help and support!”
Erika Dierke (Elf / Woodland Creature)
Erika is excited to make her Stages Theatre Company debut. She has loved performing her entire life, and has also appeared in productions with St. Anthony Community Theater and Morris Park Players. Erika loves to read, write, golf, and run. “Special thanks to my family who supports me, my friends who always encourage me in my acting, and Stages Theatre Company for including me in this show.”
Gretchen Emo (Mrs Claus)
Gretchen has been in over 14 shows with Stages Theatre Company, including the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Llama Llama Holiday Drama, Llama Llama Red Pajama, There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom, and Madeline’s Christmas. She also appeared in productions with Shakespeare in the Park, 20% Theatre, Theatre Unbound, Shoestring Players, and Mayer CAST. “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
David Gamache (Charlie in the Box / King Moonracer / Bumble / Understudy Yukon Cornelius, Boss Elf)
David Gamache has been a part of many productions with Stages Theatre Company. He has been an actor behind the scenes, a conservatory student, sound tech, and assistant stage manager. David appeared last on our stage in Spookley the Square Pumpkin. He recently graduated from Concordia St. Paul with a BFA in Theatre. “Thanks to Mark, Jan, Jim, and Zach for the support and love! A special thanks to my mom who did not stop me from marching around the coffee table to Fame and Fortune.”
Clare Judge (Clarice)
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical will be Clare’s eleventh production with Stages Theatre Company. She appeared in the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Llama Llama Red Pajama, Bridge To Terabithia, Seussical, Owl Moon, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Junie B. Jones – The Musical, The Snow Queen, Number the Stars, and Annie Jr. “I’d like to thank my parents and family for their continued support throughout this show. I would also like to thank my voice teacher, Michelle Barber, all of my dance teachers, and the wonderful staff here at STC for always believing in me.”
Chase Kozak (Reindeer)
Chase is excited to be making his Stages Theatre Company debut. He has also appeared in productions with Youth Performance Company, Ashland Productions, Children’s Theatre Company, and the MN Fringe Festival. He is a 10th grader from St. Paul. Chase studies voice, piano, and guitar, takes dance, and can unicycle. He sings with the Prelude Program at MacPhail Center For Music. In his spare time, you might find him playing video games or rereading Harry Potter. “Thank you to Stages for this opportunity!”
Joshua Larson (Santa)
Joshua is pleased to be returning as Santa for the second production of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical at Stages Theatre Company. He was last seen here in There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom last fall. Other productions at Stages include One Dog Canoe; James and the Giant Peach; Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day; The Diary of Anne Frank; and The Secret Garden. He has also performed at The Old Log, MN Jewish Theater, and The Jon Hassler Theater. Joshua is currently working on a revival of John’s Divine Comedy, his third one man musical. Joshua would like to thank Kären and Jack for their continued guidance and support.
Jackson Lyon (Elf / Birdfish)
We are excited to have Jackson in his debut production with Stages Theatre Company. He has previously appeared in productions with Front Porch Musical Theatre. Jackson loves baseball, wakeboarding, playing the drums and the piano. “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”

Sara Magnuson (Elf / Cowboy Ostrich)
Sara is returning to Stages Theatre Company for her second production, having previously appeared in Bear Snores On, and she has been part of Stages Theatre Company’s Education Program’s Next Stage: Little Mermaid Jr. Sara has also appeared in productions with Anthony Middle School. She would like to give a special thanks to her friends and family for being extremely supportive of this opportunity. “A head full of fears has no space for dreams.”
Parker Miller (Elf / Plane)
Parker is excited to make his Stages Theatre Company debut. He has previously performed with Guthrie Theater, Theater Latte Da, Theatre In The Round, Children’s Theatre Company Cargill (TAT Summer Intensive Program), Woodbury Community Theater, Mounds View Community Theater, and Young Artists Initiative. He loves camping and spending time with family and friends. “Thanks to my parents, and brother and sister for their support!”
Matt Ouren (Hermey)
Matt is back on the stage for his 14th show with Stages Theatre Company. He has previously appeared in the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Number the Stars, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Duck for President, Giggle Giggle Quack, Cathy’s Creek and Lord of the Flies, to name a few. Matt has also performed with various theaters in the Twin Cities. When he is not on stage he can be found in the Stages Box Office or teaching 4-6 year olds about the wonderful world of theatre.
Kyla Ashlee Plair (Aviator Elf / Woodland Creature)
Kyla is making her Stages Theatre Company debut. She has previously appeared in Shrek Jr. The Musical and Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963 with FAIR School-Crystal. Kyla has been singing, dancing,and acting since the age of three. She practices dance routines, gymnastics stunts and singing for hours on end. Kyla loves the stage and and all that it encompasses.
Bruce Rowan (Sam the Snowman)
Bruce has been with Stages Theatre Company since 1992. He has worn many hats over the years, including Manager of New Play Development, from which he recently retired. He has appeared in many productions including Llama Llama Holiday Drama, Duck for President, A Silent Night for Peef, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, and the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Bruce has been lucky enough to perform alongside his wife Sharon, and sons Jake and Nathan in many Stages Theatre Company productions, including this one.
Nathan Eliot Rowan (Donner / Boss Elf)
Nathan Eliot Rowan is always excited to collaborate with Stages Theatre, a place where he realized his rare condition of “Reverse Stage Fright” (RSF). When “places” is called and the lights go down, a pungent calm wafts over him and he becomes completely engaged in the action, character and narrative at hand. While not boasting on his performative prowess, Nathan can be found parenting a baby human, and crafting a follow-up to his 2014 album Universe in Me. He dedicates this performance to Molly and Betty for being guiding lights in the dark.
Zoe Sax (Elf / Woodland Creature)
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical will be Zoe’s fourth production with Stages Theatre Company. She previously appeared in Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, Duck for President, and The Snow Queen. Zoe has also been in productions with Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and Morningside Theatre Company. “I’ve worked backstage for many shows at Stages, so I’m excited to be back onstage for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. I’d like to thank my family for supporting me and driving me to and from Stages.”
Ethan Schaner (Fireball)
We are excited to have Ethan back for his second production Stages Theatre Company. He previously appeared in Annie Jr. He has also appeared in productions with Theater Latté Da, Pantages Theater, Main Street School of Performing Arts, and Illusion Theater. “I would like to give a special thanks to my Grandma ‘Nana’ for always being there for me when I need it.”
Hannah Seeman (Elf / Train)
This will be Hannah’s fourth production with Stages Theatre Company. She previously appeared in the first production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Annie Jr, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Hannah has also appeared in production with Children’s Theatre Company, Minnetonka Theatre, and Excelsior Elementary School. She is 12 years old and a student at Minnetonka Middle School West. “Special thanks to Mom, Dad and Clare.”
CREATIVE TEAM BIOS
Sandy Boren-Barrett (Director) has been with Stages Theatre Company (STC) since 1990, allowing her to pursue a dual passion for theatre production and arts education. For 15 years, she led a team of artists and educators in an award-winning education and outreach department at STC until she assumed the role of Artistic Director and CEO in 2005. An accomplished director, Boren-Barrett has directed more than 60 productions at STC, which include many new works, such as Twelve Dancing Princesses by The Brothers Grimm, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon & Starry River of the Sky, based on the books by Grace Lin, and the ballet collaborations of Owl Moon and The Snow Queen. Sandy has also directed such family favorites as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Annie Jr. and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr.
Sarah Hohenstein Burk (Musical Director) has music directed at Stages Theatre since 2006, including numerous world and regional premiers. Other recent new works include music direction for Rootabaga Pigeons (Green T Productions workshop) and River Road Boogie (History Theatre). She appeared as violinist and ensemble in C. (Theater Latte Da), as well as two workshop/reading performances of Sweet Land the Musical. A performer and recording artist on keyboard, violin, vocal and percussion in various global, popular and classical genres, she also teaches at St. Olaf College.
Kimberly Willow (Choreographer) is originally from Spencer, IA, and but now resides in Minneapolis. Kimberly has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Minnesota State University Mankato, and has performed in national tours and regional theatres all around the country. Recent roles include “Andrea” in Recent Experiences (Hope Theatre Company), “Cosette” in Les Miserables (Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse), “Beverly” in the hit Church Basement Ladies National Tours (Troupe America) and many seasons of The Medora Musical in the beautiful badlands (Stagewest Entertainment). Choreography credits include Hairspray, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Honk, Jr., A Charlie Brown Christmas, Llama Llama Holiday Drama (Stages), Annie (Highland Summer Theatre) and A Buddy Holly Story (Spencer Playhouse).
