GET READY FOR A SEASON OF FUN & ADVENTURE!

Welcome to the

2026-2027 Season!

Storytelling began long ago as a way to communicate, entertain,
and even survive.

Oral traditions and cave paintings turned into written words, songs, and visual storyboards. Stories became a way to pass down lessons across generations. And now, theatres serving young audiences use stories to create beautiful memories and opportunities to share emotions and connections with audiences young and not so young.

At Stages Theatre Company, I have noticed that more grandparents are bringing their grandkids to see shows and have a special experience with them. Oh sure, we still see a lot of parents bringing their own kids and teachers bringing classrooms to experience their STORIES and favorite characters come to life on our STAGE, but we have become part of the bridge for generational storytelling.

What a privilege it is to select a season that will create new memories for our audiences. When I do, I try to imagine who will hear a story for the very first time on stage and later will imagine our actors as they read the books again and again at home. Who will hear the drummers and see the dancers of Bowwow Powwow or remember the blooming friendship of Mary and Colin as they tend the garden? Generations will see a Reindeer fly, dragons travel back in time, journals come to life, and together they will watch the bravery of young people save the world. And spoiler alert, they always do!

Stories connect us, teach us, make us feel. What a JOY it creates for us at Stages Theatre Company to be a part of that journey. It is OUR STAGE, but it is YOUR STORIES to experience and remember, and I believe our audiences ALWAYS will!

Thank you for being a part of our season and our stories.

We are committed to learning from the past and critically examining the implications of colonial histories on our day to day lives. We hope these resources can move us in taking collective action towards land repatriation.
