Unique Opportunities to Get Creative & Stay Safe


SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN:

Virtual Field Trip + Residency

Grades K-2
$150 per classroom - $100 additional classroom in same school and same grade
The actors from the production, alongside Stages Theatre Company professional Teaching Artists join you in your classroom via video conferencing and recorded-video lessons. This interactive curriculum is designed to engage students in writing and reading comprehension with a focus on anti-bullying. Your classroom will receive five days’ worth of 30-minute workshops with 15-20 minutes of video and 10-15 minutes of off-screen activities. Pair your classroom experience with an opportunity to virtually meet the Actors, and take a peak behind the scenes. This curriculum is curated to meet core standards in reading, writing and theatre arts. Your residency will culminate in a full electronic viewing of Stages Theatre Company’s 2019 production of Spookley the Square Pumpkin.

AN AUTHOR’S JOURNEY WITH KATE DICAMILLO & EDWARD TULANE

Join your classroom with Stages Theatre Company's teaching artists for a journey with acclaimed author, Kate DiCamillo and her timeless book, A Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Your students will dive into the art of adaptation through analyzing the text of the book and then transforming it into dramatic writing. The residency will emphasize core standards in reading, writing, comprehension and dramatic adaptation. We will complete our time together with an encore viewing of Stage Theatre Company's 2015 production of Edward Tulane.
