WINTER THEATRE WORKSHOPS
(Age 4 – Grade 6)


Spend winter break singing, dancing, playing, and imagining at Stages! Winter Theatre Workshops are taught by professional teaching artists and are designed to give students an opportunity to get creative, make friends, explore the arts, and have a whole lot of fun over winter break!

  • Thinkers, Dreamers and Adventurers (Ages 4-6)


    Inspired by SCT’s upcoming production of Maybe, we’ll use our Actor Tools (body, voice, imagination) to jump into award-winning author Kobi Yamada’s library of enchanting stories, tackling a new tale each day. Endless possibilities await us, and your imagination leads the way as we travel to magical lands where pigs can fly (Maybe), our ideas grow wings (What Do You Do With an Idea) and all of our wildest dreams become reality.
    Tuition: $95.00 (includes $5 handling fee)

    Rudolph & Other North Pole Tales (Ages 4-6)


    We’re heading to the North Pole this winter break! With our imaginations as our guide, we’ll use our Actor Tools (body, voice, imagination) to jump into beloved holiday stories such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and newer tales like Dasher: How a Brave Little Doe Changed Christmas Forever & Little Red Sleigh. We will play characters, solve problems, and have lots of holiday-themed fun along the way.
    Tuition: $95.00 (includes $5 handling fee)

    Sing & Dance: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Grades 1 – 3)


    Kick off your winter break working with professional SCT Teaching Artists as you sing and dance to the music of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! We’ll learn and rehearse beloved (and catchy!) holiday tunes from the show, including “We are Santa’s Elves,” “There’s Always Tomorrow,” and “We’re a Couple of Misfits! As a special opportunity, students will meet professional actors from STC’s production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, and learn choreography from the live stage show!
    Tuition: $200.00 (includes $5 handling fee)

  • Extra! Extra! Newsies! (Grades 1-3)


    There’s no better way to “Seize the Day” than singing and dancing to the tunes of Newsies! Before Newsies takes the stage at STC this spring, we’ll try our hand at “Carrying the Banner” as the “King of New York” this winter break! Bolster your singing, dancing and acting skills working with professional STC teaching artists as you learn musical numbers from this upbeat, heartfelt, and toe-tapping Broadway smash-hit.
    Tuition: $265.00 (includes $5 handling fee)

    Page to Stage: Kate DiCamillo (Grades 4-6)


    Jump into acting technique this winter break by studying and performing some of Kate DiCamillo’s most beloved scripts. Using tales such as Flora & Ulysses, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and upcoming Stages Theatre Company world premiere, Raymie Nightingale. Students will try their hand at developing a character through a written text and get a sneak peek into an original script!
    Tuition: $265.00 (includes $5 handling fee)
